I have been using AutoCAD release 14 since 1999 so I was always going to struggle a little. I understand that ProgeCAD is very similar to AutoCAD but AutoCAD has had 24 years of upgrades from the version I have been using, so I would probably struggle with both anyway. On the whole I am very pleased with ProgeCAD, especially the pricing. I will be using it to produce plans for extensions, and I do like to dabble in 3D. I am particularly struggling with the lack of manuals. I cant seem to find good explanations of things like the layout tabs. I just used to open a template in paper space with 1 model space viewport, draw my plan, scale it 1/50xp, go back to paper space and print it off. When I have tried to use layouts I either lose the drawing or I get a black silhouette as well as my drawing and I cant get rid of it. Also the loft command doesnt seem to work very well. I am sure this is operator error as I have not kept up to date with the technology. As I said though I am very happy overall and will persevere with it and I am sure I will get there. I would not hesitate to recommend ProgeCAD to anyone in fact I already have recommended it to 3 people.
